Meet the girl behind the sewing machine!
Hi, my name is Alaina and I am The Cottage Girl. Being a homebody and someone that finds joy in the simple parts of life, I started this company to share some of the things that make me happy: sewing, baking, gardening, and writing. I am so excited to finally bring this vision to life by sharing my handmade products and delicious recipes with you. I have many memories as a kid in the kitchen with my mom and at the dinner table with my family; so many memories have happened around our dinner tables, all that I hold close to my heart to this day. It is my hope that no matter who you are with, where you are, or what you're making, that you cherish every moment. If those memories you make happen to be with one of my recipes or products that is just the cherry on top.

Alaina's Inspiration
I thought it was only appropriate to include a bit about my grandmother, or Grandy as we call her. My Grandy is so dear to me. She has always been the best baker and cook in the family, the one with the green thumb, an animal lover, and the creative one that would sew us grandchildren our costumes. She truly does it all. In every way, she exudes thoughtfulness, strength, compassion, and positivity. It is her I have to thank for my interest in sewing and, most importantly, for many precious childhood memories. Thank you Grandy for always inspiring me. I love you lots.
